Welcome New Guest Blogger: Vanessa Halter
Hi, friends! My name is Vanessa Halter, and I am a 38-year-old single mother of one. I came to Wichita Falls in 2012, by way of Cincinnati, OH. While I was born here, my sisters and I (I am the baby) were raised in Northern Kentucky by my mother. I attended Eastern Kentucky University, where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. I worked and lived in Cincinnati for 7 years, prior to moving back to be closer to my father, Mike.
I am a proud mother to Jackson, my 5-year-old son, who is obsessed with baseball, infatuated with Roblox, and a proud “father” to his dog, Molly, our 2-year-old chihuahua mix. We enjoy board games, sling-shot wars, building pillow forts, and all things LEGO and Hot Wheels.
This year, I decided to strike out on my own, and I have established a private practice in pediatric occupational therapy. C.A.M.P. Therapy Center was founded in May 2020, and I am looking forward to my grand opening this summer.
When not working or playing, I enjoy volunteering with the Junior League of Wichita Falls. Having been a member since 2013, the opportunities that have been afforded to me through JLWF have provided me with a sense of belonging and purpose that I never had in Cincinnati. Additionally, I enjoy shopping for antiques, working on my 97-year-old home, and spending time with my friends, who have become my Texas family.
I am honored and excited to be a guest-blogger for Texoma With Kids, and I look forward to sharing a piece of my journey with you.
