This Week’s Event Highlights: September 11 – 17

Tuesday, Sept. 12 – Saturday, Sept. 16: Texas Oklahoma Fair (6 – 10 pm)

The Texas Oklahoma Fair features indoor vendor exhibits, traditional fair food, a SUPER Lighted Midway with exciting rides and games, livestock shows plus free attractions including an exotic animal petting zoo, clowns, live music on the Midway stage and Exhibit Hall Stage, plus SPLASH DOGS!

The Exhibit Hall closes at 10pm nightly, but the Midway remains open later.

The Lifestock Show (free admission) will be featured each evening and all day Saturday at the MPEC J.S. Bridwell Agricultural Center.  There will be events each evening and other livestock judging through Sunday.

Hours:  Monday-Friday 6:00pm-10:00pm, Saturday 1:00pm-10:00pm

Thursday, Sept. 14 – Saturday, Sept. 16: Clay County Pioneer Reunion & Rodeo

To honor the memory and accomplishments of the hardy emigrants who sought to make a haven and home for their families, and set themselves to the arduous task of reclaiming a wilderness and replacing it with a civilization.

Thursday, September 14: Science Cafe with MSU College of Math & Science (3 – 4 pm)

Frank & Joe’s Coffee House is excited to team up with the Midwestern State University, College of Science and Mathematics to bring you Science Cafe!

The Department of Science and Math has created a fun way to share with the public what they do and are providing lots of awesome benefits and activities just for attending! If you homeschool, this would be a perfect field trip for kids of all ages.

During our first Science Cafe, we will be learning about rocks! It will be an interactive discussion and you will get to take home a rock! The Department will also be purchasing each person a drink of their choice along with giving out cool MSU t-shirts just for coming!

Make sure to bring your kids or friends! It’s free!!

Saturday, September 16: Curiosity Day at Wichita Falls Public Library (10:30 am – 1:30 pm) 

Could you survive on Mars? Families are invited to join us between 10:30a and 1:30p in the Room of Requirement to learn about the three most basic needs for survival: water, food, & shelter. You’ll get to do fun hands-on activities with the Texas Master Gardners and Engineering students from Midwestern State University. Best suited for ages 5&up.

For children under 5 we will have a fun space walk in the activity room. They’ll have a blast going from station to station doing space themed crafts with their grown ups.

Saturday, September 16: Fire Truck Pull at Academy Sports + Outdoors (9 am – noon)

It’s the ultimate tug of war challenge… and a GREAT team-building event! Gather a team of 10, raise a minimum of $250 for a team of 10, or $25 per person, and join in the Fire Truck Pull Challenge. Your team will play “tug of war” with a 55,000-lb fire truck. The team with the Fastest Team Pull will be named the Fire Truck Pull Challenge Champions!

Bring all of your biggest fans to cheer you on during your pull – it’s excitement for all ages!
