The $3,000 School Spirit Giveaway is BACK at TCCU!

One of my favorite things about my job is that I get to be a big part of how Texoma Community Credit Union gives back to our community. Our School Spirit program began before I was hired almost five years ago, but it’s something I am so proud to continue the tradition of.

What is Texoma School Spirit?

We know our local schools need our support now more than ever, so we’re giving away $3,000 to the school with the most votes! Now through September 30, we’re celebrating our free, rewards-earning checking accounts by giving back to our community. Each day, anyone from our community (both members and non-members) can log in to TexomaSchoolSpirit.com to vote for the school of their choice.

The Why and How: The Giving is On Behalf of Our Members

Credit unions are different from banks in so many ways – but one of the biggest differences is that we don’t have stockholders to pay each year. Instead, we have members. Anyone with an account with us – no matter how big or small your account balance is – has an equal say, an equal vote, and equal ownership in the credit union. And through their governance, and that of our volunteer Board of Directors, our profits go back into better rates and services for them, and giving back to our community.

It is one of the greatest honors of my career to be the steward of that promise we make to our members. And getting to surprise schools and present them with a giant Ed McMahon-style check is pure joy.

Here’s just a couple of photos from our previous winners:

2019: Zundy Elementary (PS – Here’s the video of the announcement – still fills me with glee!)

2018: Holliday Elementary

2017: Haynes Elementary

Vote Now To Help YOUR Favorite School!

Voting JUST started a couple of weeks ago at TexomaSchoolSpirit.com and runs through September 30. You can vote once daily, so it’s anyone’s game at this point. So share with your friends, fellow teachers, fellow parents, grandparents, and everyone in between!

Also, our Leaderboard will be posted to the TCCU Facebook page and TCCU Instagram each Friday starting today, so you will be able to check-in and see how your school is doing!
