DIY Holiday Gifts

Don’t drain your wallet this holiday season by splurging on expensive gifts that no one needs.  Save money and give a gift that really comes from the heart by creating it yourself. You can find loads of DIY gift ideas on YouTube and Pinterest, or use your imagination and see what you can come up with on your own.

Here are some ideas for gifts I love to give during the Holiday season.

Cookies in a Jar

I love to bake and what better way then to share that love with family and friends! This is a super easy gift to make and who doesn’t love when everything is perfectly measured out and not much work has to be done! There are so many different cookie recipes that your options are endless! Here is just one example of the classic Chocolate Chip Cookie in a Jar!

Homemade Peppermint Sugar Scrub

Sugar scrubs are an easy gift that any woman in your life would love to have! With this “recipe” you can always change the peppermint to any essential oil that is safe to use in the bath! I personally love getting things for the shower or bath and knowing that all the ingredients are all natural makes it even better!

The Perfect Gift for Grandma and Grandpa

Thankfully grandparents go crazy over homemade gifts! As a child we always loved making handprints out of salt dough. There are so many different holiday things you can make out of it. You can even just let your kids decorate it however they want! Here is an easy salt dough recipe that you can use for any season!

Homemade Heating Pads

This was a gift I never knew that I needed but they are absolutely amazing to have! This is a fantastic gift for any friend or family member. All you need is fabric, rice, and a needle and thread. The great thing with this DIY is you do NOT have to know how to use a sewing machine! You can just as easily hand sew it! Another great trick with homemade heating pads is you can add essential oils to the rice. I love this because personally eucalyptus and lavender are my absolute favorite when I need something soothing and calming! You can personalize what oils you want to use for who you are giving them to or just leave the oil out both ways work! Here is a great step-by-step on how to make the perfect heating pad!
