Animal Adventure at River Bend Nature Center

Dates: June 24-28

Ages: 4-12

Price: $100

Where: River Bend Nature Center

Time: 8:30-12pm

Prepare to explore the world of animals! Campers will go on a track hunt, explore the critters in our pond, meet local animals, dissect an owl pellet, and make animal tracks!

Junior Engineer at River Bend Nature Center

Dates: July 22-26

Ages: 4-12

Prices: $100

Where: River Bend Nature Center

Time: 8:30-12pm

Like to design, create, and build? Build a renewable energy gizmo, construct a bridge, build and launch a paper rocket, construct an earth shelter, and create a bristle bot!

Drama Camp

Dates: July 8-12 and July 15-19

Ages: 7-13

Prices: $120

Where: The Kemp

Time: 12:30-3:30

Held at The Forum again this year, campers will learn all aspects of Theatre Arts from audition to production. A performance for family and friends will be held on the last day of camp.

Camp Creativity 1

Dates: June 3-7

Ages: 6-12

Prices: $80

Where: The Kemp

Time: 9:30am-12:30pm

Art, Music & Drama! Campers will spend an hour each day with each art form. Ages 6-12

Super Hero Camp

Dates: June 3-5

ROBLOX Coders & Entrepreneur Camp

Dates: July 22-25

Ages: 8 & up

Where: Vernon College in Wichita Falls

Time: 9am-12pm

Discover how to code in the Lua language while playing and designing worlds in ROBLOX®, an online universe where you can create anything you dream
of. This new class combines game design concepts, coding, and fun! Young entrepreneurs will also learn how to navigate ROBLOX’s fast-growing marketplace to publish their games. Student-created games will be available on a password protected Black Rocket web- site to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Make Your 1st Video Game

Dates: July 24-27

Ages: 8 & up

Where: Vernon College in Wichita Falls

Time: 9am-12pm

If you love playing video games, this is the camp foryou! Make your first video game in this one-of-a-kind class that shows you the keys to designing your first 2Dplatformer game. Conceptualization, play experience, level design, graphics, sounds, and simple coding are just some of the concepts that we’ll explore. No prior experience necessary, just a desire to have fun. Student created games will be available on a password protect- ed Black Rocket website to share with friends and fam- ily. Games are only compatible on PC computers, Mac versions can be created after the program for $15.00 conversion fee. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Lego Mania

Dates: July 29- August 1

Ages: 5-7

Where: Vernon COllege in Wichita Falls

Time 2-4pm

No builder can say “Lego my Lego!” when engaged
in the creative activities of LEGO MANIA! This innova- tive program for Lego buffs provides opportunities for imagination and hands-on learning under the guidanceof a certified educator. Over 15 new games, projects andactivities not found in stores will be planned and manip- ulated. Enrichment in the areas of personal creativity, following instructions, eye-hand coordination, problem solving, critical thinking and learning will be experienced as the child has the opportunity to construct dinosaurs, rockets, castles, airplanes, forts, cars, and more!

Midwestern State Women’s Basketball Basic Skills Camp

Dates: June 10-13

Ages: 6-11

Midwestern State Football Three-Day Camp

Dates: June 12-14

Ages: Third grade-High School Senior

Where: Midwestern State University

Price: $275 for overnight campers; $235 for commuters

The Midwestern State Football Three-Day Camp aims to provide the finest individual instruction. An outstanding staff of highly qualified, experienced high school and collegiate coaches will instruct campers in all phases for your position. Techniques are stressed and enforced with coordinated drills. All campers will be divided into appropriate age groupings. This is a camp of fundamentals! Camp is conducted on the MSU Texas practice fields.

Ages: Kindergarten – Fifth Grade

Where: Midwestern State University

Time: 8:30-11:30am

Price: $125

Maker Monday Summer Program

Dates: Every Monday from June 3 – August 12

Ages: 5+

Where: Crash Works

Time: 10am-6pm

Price: Member $10 per day; Non-Member $15 per day

Looking for something fun for your kiddos this summer? Maker Mondays is designed to encourage Makers of all ages while mom and dad enjoy some time away!

Camp Summer Fun

Dates: Weekdays from June 3-July 26 (4 week sessions)

Ages: 6-12

Where: Scotland Park Elementary School Gym

Time: 7:30-5:30pm

Price $100 per camper, per sessionChildren will enjoy many fun-filled activities while socializing with new friends. Adult counselors will supervise and lead campers in activities such as swimming, crafts, nature activities, games, hikes, on-site demonstrations, offsite filed trips and so much more!

Camp Stonelake

Dates: Multiple weeks with varies themes

Ages: 3 year olds-5th grade

Prices:  Full Time-$1500 plus $200 registration fee

Part Time- $1000 plus $150 registration fee

A La Carte- $200 weekly

Camp Stonelake offers weekly themes, field trips, outdoor excursions, arts and crafts, STEM activities, team group games, spirit rallies, and much more to students ages 3 through those who have completed 5th grade.

YMCA Summer Day Camp

Dates: May 28- August 14

Ages: 5-12

Prices: Member- $85 per week

Non Member-$95 per week

Where: YMCA

Time: 6am-6pm

It’s time to Charge Into Summer and create the Best Summer Ever. The YMCA Summer Day Camp is a fun way to let your child enjoy and build lifetime memories. The YMCA Summer Day Camp is regulated by the TDFPS. Summer Day Camp provides children with positive developmental experiences. Children will make new friends, build social skills, and participate in Healthy Eating and Physical Activities. Activities such as nutrition education, volunteerism, and STEM Projects (science, technology, engineering and math) will help stimulate the YMCA’s three core values in your child-Spirit, Mind, and Body. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are served daily in accordance with the USDA Food Program guidelines.

Camp Grin Again

Dates: July 8-12

Ages: Kindergarten – 8th Grade

Price: FREE

Camp Grin Again is a week long half-day camp for children who are grieving the loos of a loved one. Campers receive support through age appropriate groups and participate in fun activities. Camp Grin Again is offered to children grieving ANY type of death- not just families who have used hospice services. The death does not have to be recent, nor does the child need to be presenting difficulties.  Children will be participating in games, sports, arts and crafts and more.

Wichita Christian School: Summer Adventure

Dates: June 3-28, July 8-Aug 2

Ages: 18 months-5th grade

Prices: 5 days-$700

4 days-$600

Time: 7:30am-5:30pm

Join us for an adventure this summer as we provide a loving, safe, spiritual and educational environment for children ages 18 months through 5th Grade. Our summer program provides structured and educational activities to keep minds sharp during the summer months, along with plenty of time for fun, free play and field trips.

Summer Theatre Academy – Backdoor Theatre

Grades 2nd-6th – July 15th – 26th – 8:30 am – 12:30 pm

In this fun, fast-paced two-week musical theatre academy, students will produce a musical revue complete with costumes, lights, and stage makeup!

Under the direction and guidance of Charlotte Dameron, Backdoor Theatre’s Youth Education Director, students will not only be preparing for their dynamic final performance, but they will also receive training in voice, acting, dance, and production from trained theatre artists and instructors.

This year’s show will be “Musicville”! Two performances will take place on the final Saturday of Summer Theatre Academy.
